I’d spent more than a decade building a rewarding and progressively responsible career in Human Resources leadership, and I had completed a prestigious executive MBA. I was ready to take on a new challenge and a greater span of control, so I applied for a job that seemed like it was made just for me.
The company I joined was large, and, having fresh eyes, I was bursting with new ideas. However, it wasn’t long before I recognized some of the troubling workplace dynamics that were in stark contrast to healthy work environments that I had the good fortune to experience.
So I left.
